Meaning
traditional name given to a basket made out of palm tree leaves to carry food gifts.
Traditionally when people travelled from the countryside to the city they carried with them one or several offah’s filled with freshly prepared, harvested food gifts or live poultry. The offah used to be sawn closed with the same fibre used for the making of the offah.
